As in most photo shoots, there are many shots that just can’t fit onto the pages of a catalog or magazine. When Studio Marcus Hay, Inc joined Williams Sonoma in Fishkill Farm for Open Kitchen we shot for 3 days solid and straight days, come rain or shine.
Heading to the Berkshires with a very full cargo van of props, Studio Marcus Hay, Inc got to spend a few weeks working on a brand new brand Prospect + Vine. In the August Issue, Studio Marcus Hay was also delighted to be featured in an article within the pages of the Design Within Reach Catalog. Paul McCobb is one of those influential designers that seem to have slipped under the radar. Most people in design circles in the States know and admire his work and he is highly collectible but unlike some of the other design superstars like George Nelson, Florence Knoll and The Eames of that era, Paul McCobb seems to have gained slightly less attention.
The second drop of the Williams Sonoma Home Catalog has reached its customers and Studio Marcus Hay Inc was proud to be included in the second cover, having Art Directed this shoot in Los Angeles earlier this year.
For the latest DWR Catalog out now, Studio Marcus Hay was delighted to see two images used in the latest May catalog, that were photographed for two other DWR projects, featured in the pages.
Many trips back and forth from NY to SF to LA and back to NY helped produce this outdoor section for Williams Sonoma, which was Art Directed by Studio Marcus Hay earlier this year.
The great thing when working on a shoot is that sometimes you see the same shot from a totally different angle and all of a sudden it is reimagined.
So white may be seen as a non-color but at Studio Marcus Hay we think white plays the most important role in design and color theory.
