Earlier this year Marcus spent a wonderful day with Photographer Brett Stevens, Art Director Anne Marie Cummins of Food to Film and Food Prep Extraordinaire Angela Devlin in his old home town of Sydney. It had been over 10 years since Marcus shot anything in Australia so it was quite the treat to be able to experience the industry there all over again. Marcus and Anne Marie spent time planning the shoot by visiting some great prop houses and shops to add to Marcus's props he brought from New York to create these images.

You can view these at SBS Food under the banner of "Scream for Icecream" The copy reads: From summer fruit to rich chocolate, from simple scoops to decorated cups – there are many reasons to scream for ice-cream. Satisfy your sweet tooth today.

In Australia, Australians celebrate Christmas in the middle of summer so it's perfectly natural to want to explore icecream recipes this time of the year but let's face it icecream is great in any country or climate at any time of the year!

When Marcus recently visited Sydney/ Australia (his old stomping ground) He was delighted when his old friend and work colleague Anne Marie Cummins from Uber Creative asked him to style a shoot for SBS Food, He literally jumped at the chance on route to the airport from NYC, He says: " I grabbed a spare suitcase, went via my prop storage in Manhattan and grabbed a bunch of props including pewter, flatware, napkins and storage jars, It does come almost second nature to do that these days, but it did feel strange taking a whole suitcase of jangling pewter all the way to Australia, a 22 hour flight, he smiles"

Often when asked to do jobs, it can be a spontaneous thing and you have to rise to the occasion without hesitation. In this instance Marcus also was also plating and styling the food on the shoot, A wiz in the kitchen, Marcus adapted to the new role quite easily but "In the USA, we are used to a Food Stylist being sole responsible for that layer, It made me realize how things work differently in different countries and that I had not worked in Australia in over 10 years so the culture on shoots is quite different, I loved taking on that role and being part of the bigger picture"

"It was a great experience and wonderful to work with wonderful Brett Stevens, The Photographer again and also Anne Marie, a dear friend and great Art Director" Marcus also got to check out Sydney Prop Houses, www.propco-op.com and www.majorandtom.com.au which are great places to visit.

These are part of a series of images that will be featured in the coming months, These first two images are part of a honey inspired series. Look out for more in the future.
